Today is an exciting day! I am doing my very first review for a Vintage clothing company. Retro Stage has sent me 2 darling dresses to share with you. 1950’s Cape Patchwork Swing Dress
This little darling is the perfect shade of Burgundy! I can’t even. As most of you know red lipstick happens to be my daily affair. So finding a red dress that compliments my red lipstick is a must!
The first thing I noticed was the removable cape that partners the dress. Essentially making this dress a 2 in 1. The cape is easy to button and unbutton. Underneath the cape is a 2 strap 50’s style day dress. The dress is made from a stiff cotton with only 5% polyester and extra stitching at the bust line helping to complete its vintage look. The fabric for the cape is unlisted but its a sheer slightly stretching material. Neither of these fabrics seem to pill or snag easily. The downside is that the dress itself is prone to heavy wrinkling. It will need to be ironed and hung to stay smooth. 
Unfortunately the sizes are limited to S-XXL. I would love to see Retro Stage include more sizes in the future that can accommodate all shapes.
One positive is that Retro Stage customer service is extremely responsive and timely. It does take about 2-4 weeks for delivery as these items are coming from China. So plan for that.
In the following photos I chose to show how it comes straight from the website but in addition glammed it up in ‘Audrey’ fashion. So I added Satin Opera Length gloves and a black belt.

Pink 1950’s Halter Floral Swing Dress
I am not gonna lie this is probably my favorite. It makes me feel as if I stepped right out of the 50’s. The halter part of this dress is a tie back which allows for customized fitting around the bust line. There is no built-in shape wear which means a strapless or A-Line bra must be worn.
The floral pattern is adorable! I love the pink underlay but unfortunately the pink does show through the white very slightly. I am a stickler on this and it’s something I noticed right away. It is not extremely noticeable so it isn’t a deal breaker but I wanted to note that for anyone who may be curious.
The fabric is made from cotton plus 5% spandex. The pink bow, at the chest, is not removable and upon arrival I found that it needed ironed. The sizes for this dress range from S-XXXL. Again I would love to see Retro Stage add more sizes to their inventory.
