Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing one of my favorite staples in my Vintage Wardrobe.

Finding the right pair of pants can be quite daunting. This is why I went completely over the moon for the Martha 40’s Wide Leg Suspender Trousers  at my local Vintage store.  Voodoo Vixen hails from the UK and offers beautiful Vintage Repro (short for Reproduction) style clothing. I find their pieces to be well made and affordable.

What I love most about these pants is the flattering way they fall through the hip. The waist nips in ever so slightly to accentuate the waist to hip ratio and flows beautifully straight down to the ankle. There are several pleats running along the pant line which lends itself to a masculine style.

These pants are quite long and for a gal of 5’3 I had to have 5 inches hemmed to make them fit. I am wearing them with 2 inch heels in these pictures. The braces are removable which give these pants a totally different look. I feel very ‘Dick Tracy’ when I wear the braces a.k.a suspenders. On those days when I want something a bit dressier but still comfortable I will remove the braces and tuck in my favorite blouse.

Finally, these pants have functional pockets that I find deep enough to carry my keys or cell phone. The pockets blend so well into the seaming that the line of the leg isn’t disturbed if you place something inside the pocket.

I found these pants at a local Vintage store here in town. However Voodoo Vixen ships internationally and some of their pieces can be found on Amazon.  Please see the links below.
